The old city of Cadix is a peninsula. It used to be a very active city thanks to maritime traffic but nowadays, most of the cargo ships traffic goes to Algesiras, opposite Gibraltar. People of Cadix complain that their city is dying and that even tourists tend to prefer to visit other places in Andalucia.
