Day 8 July 13th

13 July 2010 | Pacific Cup
Kim
So maybe the day and date is obvious to readers, but that's the best thing about this trip...not knowing or caring so much! We just don't want to miss the parties ya know. We are only a few miles from the halfway mark - woohoo. We have managed to recover from our tiredness, so as John says "we are on our way TO Hawaii vs. we have left California"! We have up the 5S and have a friendly competition on who can go the fastest. I think 10.4 kts wins right now, but then again if you don't see it it doesn't count. The temperature is starting to get warm so spirits are rising. I'm in shorts, tee and barefoot inside the cabin now. We are all of the opinion the other spin pole was faulty, but then again how do you know, it sounds good tho. I'll ask for a refund when we return yeah right. Brad whipped up a fancy breakfast feast for us this morning consisting of eggs, bacon and cinnamon coffee cake. I was going to ask for a vanilla latte with that but thought I might be pushing it! The satellite phone works well, I spoke to Max and Cody as this Mom is anxious and missing my boys. They don't seem to know or care as I'm just a phone call away and they are having fun with G-mommy and Pee-paw in Texas. Oh well, such is the life of a mom! I'd better go down for a nap as I'm sure we'll be celebrating somehow someway the 1/2 way mark. I'll report back on that as soon as I'm able. I wish I could send pictures through here, but nonetheless we have them for later.
