It seems like every time I sit down for a break there is another meal to cook and another round of dishes to wash (plus I just cleaned the entire galley with clorox wipes)- rough stuff. Scrambled eggs, sausage and toast for breakfast; quesadillas and leftover Mulligan's stew for lunch; lasagna for dinner (holy guacamole- speaking of which I think the avocados went bad). Somehow I found the time to reread "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" in less than 48 hours...nbd :) I also just recently found out that this laptop has solitaire on it- good thing or I would be considerably bored having finished all the books I brought on board!
Last night we experienced enough excitement, and fear, to last us through the end of the race; we made use of the phrase "all hands on deck" when the spinnaker decided it had had enough of our shenanigans. Thank goodness it happened around dusk before it got completely dark, though I must say it never gets pitch black out here which is probably for the better. After all the commotion died down and those that were not on watch went back o sleep, the clouds cleared a little bit and the stars came out; the rest nine to midnight shift proved fairly uneventful. As for the rest of the night, it must have been pretty rough because I was hearing crashes and booms even through my ear plugs- that's when you know things are crazy! Children's Hour is about to start- gotta go!
