The past two nights we have been sailing on the moon river, steering directly at the pale white reflections of a setting half-moon. Last night we had a crystal clear sky directly above with bright stars. With the moon still a few hours from setting, there was enough room for the rainstorm that passed over us earlier in the evening to fit between the moon and the horizon. So my 3am view included stars (and a bright and close meteor flameout), a backlit Windberg cloudscape with dark falling rain below, a backlit Tiki J spinnaker, and the moon river. I'm hoping for more tonight, likely the last night owl shift of the race. I'll miss this.
