I've empirically determined that 3 weeks is too long between thorough washings of your Nalgene water bottle. Good news is that I won't have to wash it again this trip :-)

The genoa (big jib) and full hoist main are in play today...and the motor too. The fellas are getting good at reefing and shaking them out, plus finding that finicky spot to start the motor.

I did a complete inventory of our food stores this morning and cleared my anxiety there. We'll be good assuming no large loss due to spoilage, which has been neglible so far. A few ratios are off: egg/sausage; lunch meat/bread; cheese/lunch meat - but nothing we can't handle. FYI, cabbage is a durable substitute for lettuce in most taco dishes, and lasts quite well in the fridge. Kim unintentionally made sauerkraut with some pre-shredded cole slaw mix on the way to HI, but what's left of the fresh head we have on board still looks quite viable after a week.

Thanks to Liz for sending me compressed versions of the Pacific 48hr wx chart. It helps to have a big picture view even if nothing's changing.
