Aerogal
31 March 2016
This appropriately named airline brought my wandering spouse and crew back to Time Bandit today. Back from 5 -10 degrees (and that was indoors) to 30 and high humidity. So, if you're sitting comfortably we can begin. Or at least restart our journey. Well second if she wasn't asleep already.
Aerogal was one night too late for the cruisers' jam night. No, not Robertson's. The music variety. Two of the guys were good musicians, Dave from Brisbane, Australia, a founder member of travelling Ozzie folk band, The Bushwhackers. They played Stirling once many years ago! Small world.
So, with Dave on guitar, Florean on keyboard and three guys doing battle with a barbeque all thirty of us had a jolly good night. Tuna slabs, whole fish or pork chops to chomp on and the really good news was they only sold beer by the "Grande" so following our Eco crusade I was able to help save the planet by drinking twice as much for half the waste.
There are twenty boats anchored now predominantly from the antipodes or maybe Germany. All heading the same way. All killing time to avoid any late El Niño driven cyclones while en route on next 3,000 mile leg to Marquesas.
The twenty yachts are surrounded by 10 to 12 Eco tour boats. Daily, 20 foot inflatables ferry their white skinned guests ashore to do their sightseeing, bringing them back 8 hours later, pinker versions of their former selves.
