When we bought Time Bandit the boat had a very rough anti fouling job. Subsequent rushed coats only made the problem worse so this year, after avoiding the issue for a few years, we decided we'd scrape back to gel and apply Coppercoat.

Had we known it would involve one week of scraping and nearly 10 days of sanding we might not have bothered. Applying the 5-6 coats of Coppercoat, which was preceded by two layers of anti osmosis epoxy was a major job and took four of us four days to do.

The end result is a solid, hard as nails and hopefully ten year coating that will keep the weed off and the boat in the water avoiding lift fees for many years. Maybe we'll get an extra half knot as well.
