Isn't it nice when the places you visit have cool names? Niku Hiva, the metropolis of the Marquesas has wifi and a Carrefour. A first in many weeks. Consequently, we will be sat in this cafe for hours wasting our lives away clearing a thousand spam emails and four important ones.

We had a cracking sail north from the lovely Fatu Hiva stopping for a night on Tuamoto before making the last 30 miles to here. En route we had a monster yellow fin Tuna on the hook.....but as usual, once alongside the boat, it took one look at the frying pan and did a runner. One day we will actually land one. Now we have to go buy from the professionals.

Half our Pacific Net fleet is here and there must be nearly 50 cruisers anchored in the bay all of which makes it very sociable. Up at 05:30 this morning to get ashore for the 06:00 vegetable market which is of course, tomorrow at 6. We will miss that as this afternoon we have to change bays, heading up the coast to the next one for a birthday party on Villomee. It's Jan's birthday and as they are New Zealanders it's roast lamb. Should be nice in 30c!
