10/04/2009, Mykonos, Greece
We came to Mykonos yesterday on a southerly breeze from Siros. Today we plan to go and act like a normal tourist and go see Delos, across the channel. Go to Lonely Planet or something for the history. You might find it interesting.
Question: Which Greek island in the Cyclades does not end in "os" excepting Thira (Santorini)?

We made it back! The whole idea of coming back was so that we could get our mail. The mail arrived successfully from our mail service so we'll be having a little more reading material.
A change of plans for today. Instead of going directly to Mykonos and Delos, we are now thinking of going to Siros, with some charter friends we met in Santorini. They have an eight day charter and their captain says Siros is a great place. We'll see!

09/28/2009, Thira, Greece
Well, I am glad to report that all the museums were closed today and that no plans had even been made about going to one. It's not that I don't like the first 10-20 minutes spent there, but after that I get kinda tired. But, there's no reason to worry about museums (I got tired anyhow).
We started off in Fira, the capitol, and wondered about there for awhile before we split from the split of the group and went off to look for and ATM and some groceries. But we decided to have lunch before looking around. So we had lunch and started off and easily found the main road -- it was the only one that is paved with concrete. After that we walked down past our place to meet the other split from the group and immediately found a store. But it was still 3:00 p.m. and we were supposed to meet our friends at 5. So we turned around and went back to where there were some park benches and ordered some food. We got done with that at 3:15 and decided to go back to our store and grocery shop. At 4:00 we were done and we waited out the last hour on a wall.
All in all it was a good trip. We met some new friends and saw most of Fira. Santorini (Thira) is a cool island. Click on this.
P.S. My dad's X plot is working again.

09/28/2009, Thira, Greece
Today is my birthday! So, to celebrate it my mom and dad put together a hunt for me to find my present (like I usually do to them). I found it after 10 clues (some hard, some easy) and it turned out to be an 8 GB flash-drive. I'm working on putting stuff on it right now.
Today we plan to go in to Fira, the capitol of Thira. Apparently there is some museums (not my choice for a birthday party) and some ruins nearby. We plan to go with some friends that we met here in the marina in their rental car. Get you an update afterwards!!

09/20/2009, Paros, Greece
As we left Sifnos, I had a bad feeling of a bad day. The day started off with about 20 knots and some small waves. But as the day wore (drug) on the waves built up and we had an O.K. (aka terrible) passage over here. (Okay, it wasn't that bad!) Eventually we had to throw in a tack and then things just got worse. Mama was almost (!) sick and everyone (except the driver) followed suit.
Eventually, when we realized that our target was off and we were headed for nowhere, we got on track again and were in port in a couple hours. We were very relieved!!
Ethniko Parou is the ferry port in the Cyclades. Most of the ferries are based around here mainly because Paros is pretty much in the middle of the Cyclades. That makes it easier to reach out and transport passengers to all of the islands around here. So far, we have seen ferries ranging from a high-speed passenger ferry to a low-speed car/passenger ferry. (3 of the most prominent types are the high-speed passenger, high-speed-low-capacity car passenger, and low-speed big passenger ferries.)
We plan to stay in Paros 'till Wednesday because of weather. There is a storm here that has yet to blow out.
Sorry that the picture is not the right one. SailBlogs doean't let me post a better pic. Sorry.

09/17/2009, Serifos, Greece
We plan to leave Serifos today and go to Sifnos. It is only a short sail and there isn't much wind. We'll be taking it easy getting over there.
This is a great place and I don't want to leave, yet!! But maybe Sifnos is better.
P.S. My dad's 'X-plot' map is off terribly. Don't trust it. If you take the readings that he put on his blog and go to Google maps, or something, it might work better. Just a thought!
