Well it's play time today. The weather is beautiful and the kids are itching to go over to the island for some fun in the sun and sand.
Loaded up the whole crew including Den, Shahn and his kids with supplies and headed over to the island under motor power. A little too flat to make the crossing in any semblance of time. Found a nice deep cove on the backside and anchored in right at the shore line. With the long run out on the front side the island makes a perfect swimming and play area for the kids. Set up a little camp with some shade to get out of the sun from time to time and a place to cook up lunch.
After some playtime in the water it was time to load a small contingent of those wanting to sail and slip back out into the main body for a little sailing fun. Stitched our way north to just before the provincial campground at 49 13.65N 115 15.02W. Then turned and ran back to the island. It was a nice little sail and everyone out seemed to have fun. Once we got Den off the tiller and out of the circles. ;)
Wind picked up on the crossing back to South Ostrich bay. Would have been a nice sail but there was too many aboard and too inexperienced to set the boat for a sail back so we motored in. Once we were unloaded and every thing secure I took the core crew out again for a little fun. We stayed in the general vicinity of the bay and played in the wind.
It was a great day and everyone had a lot of fun. Both on the island and on the boat. This is looking to be a very fun little holiday at the lake.
Stay tuned for more fun.
