Chad / Clear with light southerly
Well we have new visitors today. Ben and Elaine arrived today and were looking for an opportunity to try out the new member of the family. How could we refuse. ;)
We headed out with a light wind as usual and made for a stitch northward toward the provincial camp (49 13.65N 115 15.02W) scooted across the harbor opening for the camp and then headed back down lake. Just as luck would have it we lost the wind on the return. The kids were really hot and wanted to do some swimming so we dropped the sheets and set to drift in the middle for a spell while they had a hoot jumping into the lake and swimming around the boat. (49 13.25N 115 14.95W).
Eventually they tired out and we adults cooked enough sitting there that it was time to head back to camp. We set the sails and made a good attempt at a sail back but the wind would just not agree with us so it was back down with the sheet, on with the motor, and back to camp under power.
Good thing there is a outboard on this. It's getting a regular work out during our time out here a Koocanusa lake. :)
