Painting the masts

Well, the masts are all sanded and ready for the primer. Big Rich will take Tom to the hardware store to buy the primer and the paint today. All the new lines have been measured, and whipped. They are all labeled and I put them in bags all ready to put on the mast when we have finished painting the mast. We are working on the small mast first, then we will put it up again. This way we will get it out of the way to work on the big mast. Big Rich did all the eye splices for us.
The primer for the mast is two part epoxy primer. What a joy it is to use that stuff. I was covered head to toe. You have to move fast when you put it on and as it starts to dry if you are still rolling it on, it is like candyfloss. I think I was over doing it a bit with the rolling as I was a first timer and wanted it to look good. The second coat went on smoother.
