Ready to get Wet?

15 April 2013
She's ready to be splashed...

Having spent rather more time than anticipated in the shed, Toodle-oo! will emerge later today and be launched this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

Bottom stripped, Barrier Coated and new bottom paint
Boot stripe raised about 1.5"
Blue of boot stripe fixed where we had ridden up against a nasty barnacle infested mooring ball in Menemsha and scratched the blue all to pieces
Chainplates are re-bedded
Vang and Gooseneck brackets have been bushed and welded back together again
Solent stay top fitting has been replaced
Mast has been flitzed and waxed and generally cared for
Stereo has been replaced and new speakers (inside and out) installed
SSB ground plane has been improved (fixed?)

All is good...

My schedule at work has me leaving on May 3rd - so as of May 4th, I'm officially on long term leave from work - until November. Laurie's job ends on May 10th.

We then have 3 weeks to get the boat working the way we want it - electronics sorted, refrigeration back aboard, watermaker re-installed, mechanical systems put to bed, etc. and then we head off for a week, through the Elizabeth Islands and then an overnight sail (our first solo!) up to Boston to watch daughter Abigail graduate! Once the hangover fades, we're off to the Azores, planned departure June 2nd!

Woo-hoo!!!
