Rick, Garth, Ros, John and Myra have completed the handover of Trilogy, including sea trials. Trilogy has exceeded expectations. She is beautifully built and sails exceptionally well. And today - Good Friday - we moved aboard Trilogy in the Canet-en-Roussillon marina.

Getting Trilogy ready for sea has been character building. Driving the large Mercedes van/people mover in narrow Perpignan lanes has been as testing as navigating through the streets of Bompas where we had been staying in a small villa while preparing Trilogy.

There have been a number of trips to Orange stores to try to obtain appropriate SIM cards with appropriate credit and access to data for iPhones, iPads and the boat's mobile broadband router. Still to work out how to actually recharge our prepaids over the internet but we are getting close. We are also using the WirieAP to find nearby wifi hotspots (usually provided by Orange on a fee for service basis). While we can find a lot of free wifi its terribly slow.

Key memories so far include:
being overtaken by a wheel chair being pushed by an ancient femme while trying to manoeuvre the van through the outskirts of Perpignan;
discovering that one can only make cash deposits at the Credit Agricole branch in Bompas on Friday afternoons (presumably there is a Deposit Agricole somewhere);
Myra receiving exceptional personal service at the Perpignan Apple shop including having her hand kissed at the conclusion of the assistance;
magical sea trials in exceptionally warm spring weather with snow capped Pyrenes in the background nearby; and
Rick pulling the gear lever right out of the floor of the small Renault hire van while making a racing gear change.
