Our 2nd snowfall ...just in time for a White Christmas!

Sunday the 20th brought a very cold, windy BUT Hupperly Beautiful snowy day. Just after 8am, the 1st flurries began and by 9 am it was a full fledge blizzard. The storm really slammed many cities further down the East Coast (Maryland, New Jersey, Massachusetts and more) but we were only expecting 5-6 inches. The wind was bitter and blowing the snow sideways while visibility was limited making it perfect to experience this storm from INSIDE our picture window. By 2 pm it was reduced to flurries again, so Rob & I went for a hike to capture a few more Kodak moments. Starting up the "road" our 1st challenge was walking up hill in 6 inch, drifting to 1 ft with slippery ice below! Using leg muscles we didn't remember we even had our hike only lasted 1 hour and boy, were we exhausted. But once again, we were in awe at the peacefulness and pristine beauty of tall pines, fallen trees and leafless shrubs with fresh snow and no other foot prints but our own. To many people who live in the northern states this kind of winter day is pretty routine but to us on Hupper for the 1st winter (probably the last however), it's just magical. And just think winter doesn't even officially start until TOMORROW!
