After serious thought and much hesitation, we decided to take that much needed break from working on the house and continue our dream of cruising in the Caribbean. Leaving Hupper is definitely not easy and the weather has done it's best to keep us here, but we must do what we must do. With alot of excitement we do look forward to meeting up in Newport, R.I. with the NARC rally leaving Oct 30th...heading to St. Martin, via a couple of day stop in Bermuda.

A total of 70+inches of snow this season...Even 10 inches of the beautiful fresh white stuff...on APRIL 1st!

I just never tire of the snow and winter wonderland scenery. If it's going to be cold..then let it snow!

After we made the decision to stay another year, the rennovation of the original kitchen, bathroom and bedroom began. We just couldn't leave with this project half finished! Sooo...it all started with the floor joists and subflooring

Summer is over and work on the addition is also over for a while. But we had fun mixed in with the work and wonderful weather and the terrific friends and family that came to visit! The summer of 2010...lots of change, lots of fun and lots of labor of love!

It's been 2 months of work, so much more slowly than in the fall! BUT really looking like a finished product...at least from the outside.

Maine is noted for it's Winter winds and snow. Our wind storm had "officially" gusts of 83mph! Many, many trees were toppled but thankfully no homes were disturbed. We did loose power, but miraculously for only 24 hours! Life on an island, with a wood burning stove, candle light and the hum of a little generator, powering the refrig and TV! All the creature comforts without electricity... How romantic!

As a surprise for our dear friend Sharon Willbergh's 60th birthday, her husband flew Rob & I out! A great 10 days for me and 5 days for Rob. We saw many friends, celebrated with Sharon (many times) had dinner with Kristen, her boyfriend, Chris and his parents, and finally went to Lake Tahoe to compare West Coast snow to East Coast snow! Yep...they're both white! We also got a chance to fly the small commuter plane "Cape Air" between Boston & Rockland and saw Hupper Island from the air...COOL! What a great 10 days!

What a glorious place this is...in all seasons. This winter has been a very special time, beautiful white fluffy snowflakes, Winds ranging from dead calm to 40mph, crystal blue waters (40 degrees), mostly sunny days, star-filled nights, some gloomy, gray days but every day a very special day. 2009 was such a fun and adventurous year that 2010 can only bring us continued fun and exciting adventures! We'd much rather a white winter, than a brown winter...it keeps the temps "reasonable" in the 30's. Our year started at the P.C. neighborhood Harpoon Restaurant...a great local tradition!

After a REALLY windy Wednesday night and waking up Thursday morning to no skiff...It was rescued by Jerry Cushman, tied to a tree and now back where it belongs. It's good to know it wasn't our knot tying skills, but a bowline 0 ring that was "yanked" out of the hull by the bucking and puling that the wind and surf put her thru!

While further down the East Coast this storm was historic...in Maine and on Hupper we had about 6 inches and some very pretty sights. The winds were quite high however...20-25 gusting to 30!

1st snow fall on December 5th, 2009...It flurried a bit starting about 3pm, turning to snow at dark and by dawn's light had snowed about 4 inches with drifts in many places over a foot deep! What a magnificent and magical day!

We have not seen fall foliage colors in over 15 years...how awesome. Vineyards in California just do not stack up to the towering Birch, Maple and countless other gorgeous fall color trees.

After spending the past 20 months getting from San Francisco to Port Clyde, and 2 months of wet weather, we finally have begun our house addition project!

On the 2nd longest zip line in Costa Rica, Rob over-came his dislike for heights and we flew over waterfalls. Truly a trip of a lifetime!
