Isla Isabela

What a great voyage we have had since Mazatlan. Isla Isabela is a fantastic island that is a bird sanctuary for hundreds and hundreds of Frigates and Blue Footed Boobie Birds! Nesting in trees, in grasses as well as right on the sand. Of course the aroma was birdish, the birds and Iguanas were very photogenic and the hiking to the crater lake thru banana tree groves and a couple of sugar cane plants was fantastic. We did not snorkel there, the water by the Los Monas was a bit choppy and while swimmers we are, STRONG swimmers against a crashing surf we ARE NOT. The water was very clear and about 72degrees. Definitely a great stop to anchor, the south beach was pretty protected from everything except from the north. We spent 3 days, met up with Windward bound and met a family from Australia on Shambala who has been on their boat for 4 years. Next on to....San Blas
