Day 2 at sea...Our first official over night passage. We took 3 hr shifts...Richard & Gil 9:00-midnight, Rob & Jan 12:00-3:00am, Richard & Gill 3:00-6:00am...we were all up for the 1st check in at 7:30am with our reading from 6:am. Engine was turned off @ 2:30am to sail in 8-9 knot winds...better sleeping without the motor...but the banging of sails amplify down below! The day brought pretty sloppy seas so Jan was not feeling really well...slept alot or "drove" to stay focused seemed to help. The guys did the dishes! Winds during the day were 20 knots gusting to 30! Tried to sail most of the night (winds calmed to 8- 10 knots) but the banging of the sails and staysail boom sure echoed below.
