Hello Everyone!!! I'm sorry for the huge gap in the updates. I made the boat my own on my birthday Feb 02. I didn't take the cover off and begin to do anything until the last week in March. So very little activity was missed. I've begun sandiing the bottom. If you could imagine a hard antifouling that's been sitting for 10+ years, that's what I'm tackling. I've been using my Porter Cable 7335 with 40 grit paper. It is slow going. I've purchased 4 gallons of Interprotect 2000E, 2 of the gray color and 2 of the white. When that's all done I will be putting on 2-3 coats of the Interlux Micron Extra. I will post some pictures of what I have done below. I'll talk soon. Fair Winds...

Sorry for not updating recently. It may be like this until I actually start working on the boat. My offer was accepted so now I just need to pay the balance which will be forthcoming soon. I need to buy tools... I just realized today that I sold all my tools before I sold my house and moved from California to here. Of course when I sold all my tools I wasn't planning on refitting a boat!!! Hence my problem. More money gone before I buy anything for the boat. I was thinking of starting with the seacocks and through hulls??? Any suggestions? talk to you soon!!!

Since I've started reading cruising stories on the web, I was able to ascertain the best offshore cruiser for my needs. Mainly from the tales of James Baldwin and his two circumnavigations. I chose a Pearson Triton...All 28' 6" of her. As I write this, I am waiting for the broker to get back to his office so that I can give him a deposit on my offer for the boat. This is immensely important to me because I will also be calling this boat home. It is a surprisingly sound boat. No delamination, there wasn't any seepage into the decks, requiring a deck recore. In this blog, I will try to provide a detailed account of the refit with pictures, part numbers, costs, and how to's. Believe me, I am going into this with very little knowledge. I will be relying on books, advice, and you!!! I shall keep you updated... Talk to you soon.
