What To Do

26 July 2012 | Mount Hartman Bay
Sue
We relocated to Prickly Bay for a day due to its proximity to Budget Marine; always something to repair or upgrade.
This project involves replacing a leaking shower hose. Well….as luck, or lack of, would have it the connection on the existing hose does not match any product in either marine stores; we now have a new hose/shower head assembly.

The following day, we moved over to Mount Hartman Bay which is next the next bay over. The entrance has many reefs but is well marked with channel buoys. The reefs do protect the bay from incoming swells so we are very comfortable.

We are anchored in approximately 30 feet with a muddy bottom so this holding ground is excellent. The water is clear down to a certain level making it great for swimming and making water.

Each marina has its own specialty during the week.

Monday: morning yoga at Secret Cove Marina; two for one pizza at the Tiki Bar in Prickly Bay
Tuesday: bingo night at the Tiki Bar
Wednesday: trivia night at the Tiki Bar
Thursday: morning yoga at Secret Cove Marina; afternoon cooking class at True Blue Marina; roasted chicken with shoestring fries, cole slaw and dinner roll at Whisper Cove Marina; movie night at de Big Fish; jam session at the Tiki Bar
Friday: pot luck dinner at Clarks Cove Marina
Saturday: hash excursions will take you to various parts of the island for a trek through forests, streams or whatever the location of the day will bring.
Sunday: jam session at Whisper Cove and barbecue at Rogers Beach Bar, Hog Island

Happy hour can be found at many marinas on any given day and a few concerts with local and imported talent are a weekly occurrence.

Today being Thursday, guess what we’re up to…..no, not the cooking class, we did that last week….we are going to Whisper Cove to have some of that scrumptious chicken that’s been roasting on the spit for hours.
There is a group of us getting together to celebrate Juliette’s 10th birthday; her maternal grandparents have even travelled from Rouyn, QC for a visit.

Saving the best news for the end of this blog….Nick & Autumn are flying to Grenada on August 26th to spend a week with us on the boat…yeaaaaa…..Nana gets to spoil her girl!
