Simpson Bay

The above picture was taken by a fellow traveler between St. Lucia and Martinique.
Our next destination was St. Kitts then St. Barts; we were lucky to have favorable winds on both days and had great sails.
On Saturday, we had heavy seas between St. Barts and St. Martin but when we were longing the St. Martin coast, we were protected from the heavy wind and had once again a great sail.
We went to the Capitainerie to get our clearance documents but the sign said it was closed until 3:00 p.m.
No use wasting time...we did a little window shopping then went for a cocktail.
When we returned to the Capitainerie, we were told that it would not open on Saturday afternoon and to come back on Monday....oh well....their country, their rules.
By Monday, the wind was from the north-east creating a very rolly anchorage; a major squall came through during the evening with gusts ups to 25 knots.
Our friends from Desirada relocated inside the lagoon of Simpson Bay on Tuesday; it's still windy but the wave action is very minimal. We followed suit on Thursday. Happy hour was at Desirada with Monique & Jean and Louise & Denis of Prana (not prada as the shoes).
This Friday morning, we ventured of to the market with Monique & Jean; had not seen a grocery store like this one in any of the islands.
This afternoon, we've parked the dinghy on a beach across from our anchorage and have walked to an internet café; we have no internet access at the boat.
Have a great weekend!!
