Pulled anchor at Venetian Causeway mid-tide, 12:30 pm. We are kinda tired of the Miami Beach scene. Gets old after awhile.
Anchorage note: The fishing boat "Blue Fin" drags a lot; they are not using hundreds of feet of chain as previously thought. They just do a lousy job of anchoring and drag all around the harbor.
This morning we stripped the varnish on the screens and trims around the overhead hatches to get them ready to apply new varnish coats. The sun really did a job wrecking the old varnish.
We stopped at the Crandon Park Marina on Key Biscayne for fuel and water and, most importantly, ice cream. Fancy place; $30 per night for a mooring, though well protected. 37.8 gallons of diesel and lots more water....
Anchored in 11 feet of water at No Name Harbor around 3:45 pm. Six sailboats and 3 big power yachts anchored tonight.
