What's Happening

10 October 2008 | Our house in Franklin, Wis. (Near Milwaukee) Picture: Winter 2008
Linda / Temp: 61, Wind: SE at 7 mph, Humidity: 72%
We have been purposefully planning for the past two years to leave the cold (yet beautiful) Wisconsin winter's behind for life in the southern latitudes.
Let's get you caught up. We found "Star Chaser" now renamed, "Troubadour", on Yacht World in May 2008. Following a sea trial and survey, we made an offer and in early June we became proud owners of our new floating home. We motored up the Intercoastal to relocate Troubadour to Sea Love Boat Works for her refit.
On August 3rd we placed the house in Franklin, Wis., on the market and had an accepted offer on August 28 for closing on October 17! (What housing crisis?)
We are now in the final two days of a two-week estate sale where we are selling nearly everything that won't make the trip to the boat, and we are storing clothing, keepsakes, and back up supplies at my parents home in Lake Geneva, Wis. Our last day in corporate America and cubicle life is October 16. While I spend my evenings saying goodbye to lifelong friends in Milwaukee, Chris is packing. We hired a moving company to deliver our boxes for the boat to a storage unit in Florida.
Our Bon Voyage party is October 17, and we leave a few days after to visit Chris' family and friends in Maryland, Virgina, North Carolina and Florida. We plan to split our time between Troubadour, and Chris' sister, Lindy's house in Wellington, Florida, until we shove off to the Bahama's.
That's the short story for now. Thanks for checking in on us!
