Farwell to Morgan City

Our winter stay in Morgan City has come to a close. It's time to cast off and move East.
We got a few boat projects done over the winter months, ate a lot of good Cajun food and did the tourist thing as well. There are many sights to see within a day's drive of Morgan City and we managed to take in quite a few, not the least of which was the birthplace of jazz--New Orleans. If you like jazz, it is worth standing in line for a couple of hours to get to see a performance at Preservation Hall.
We also participated in our first Mardi Gras season here. In fact, there are Mardi Gras celebrations all over south Louisiana, not just in New Orleans. We still have about a bushel of beads from the many parades we attended. All in all, it was a great experience.
It is not without regret that we leave the many wonderful friends we have made during our winter stop, but new adventures are calling and we are powerless to resist.
