Waterfall and divers in Dubai Mall

We only had a few hours in Dubai, but thanks to our friend Ken who picked us up at the airport at 7.30am and got us back in time for our 2.30pm flight, we had a good look at the city. Ken's tour ended at the Dubai mall, one of the biggest in Dubai. A full sized ice skating rink was keeping quite a few kids and adults occupied. A cold respite from the 40 degree heat outside. The waterfall with the divers takes up a large wall in the centre of the mall. A large body of water in a country where water is a precious commodity. In the newer areas of Dubai houses are cooled with treated recycled sewerage water.

Interesting buildings in Dubai

The architects employed in Dubai must be some of the most forward thinking and innovative people in the tall building industry. We didnt see a square plain building while in Dubai.

Emirate Airlines arrival Terminal, Dubai.

The glitzy Terminal 3 at Dubai is solely for Emirates Airline. The columns, palms and shiny ceiling is more reminiscent of a hotel foyer than an arrival hall. But what else could you expect from a city that has the tallest building in the world including a building shaped like a sail and a man made palm shaped island for whole new subhurb.
