My friend Torgeir that bought my old boat Twilight is sailing her to Norway from San Diego. Should be quite interesting as they are now half way down the Baja Coast. Here is a link to see their progress. (Continued...)

Scuba Certs

We had an idea or I did that if while cruising we had to go under and clear the fouled rudder or prop. Or make some repair out in the middle of somewhere. A snorkle won't make it. So we (I) decide that we needed to get scuba Certified. We have now gotten the written tests, all pool dives and two open ocean dives out of the way. Two more ocean dives and one more thing off my list. (Continued...)

We are prepping for the Catalina trip will be heading out soon. We got some other's to meet at Avalon but will head out alone which is always nice. Then head over to Cherry Cove after a day or two. This will be our first trip with a Bimini. The sun is pretty tough after 6-8 hrs. But we have a good dingy this year and should be a lot more mobile having a little more experience with this trip. We'll down load pictures after we get back. This trip is about 70 miles out of Mission Bay to Avalon. With a compass heading of 295 or so. Leave around 3-4 am and be there by four if wind and current behave. Always be ready for the worst but don't fear the best. Time to pull from the dock. (View Post...)
