Our boat will be upside down at the pole mum!

As I see the southern cross slipping toward the horizon I am reminded of Samuel today "Mum when you sail at the south pole your boat will be upside down ?" "No idiot the sea is flat," says Taylor."Well how do we stop from tipping off the earth mum because its round?"Mmmmm says Mum thinking quickly about the answer. You are both right but also both wrong and this is what happens. No your boat will not be upside down because where you are sailing is flat but the earth is round......yes but what stops us from falling off....and so it goes. The southern cross is near the horizon for us and soon I suspect we will lose sight of it....and perhaps the kids will realise abit more the earth is round...but you dont fall off.Its a great school of life and it is phenomenal experience for a 5 year old to actually see the southern cross for thousands of miles , realise it is getting c loser to the horizon and thus he knows the world is round because he is sailing around the corner !I wonder what next for our little family of 4 , we are getting closer and experiencing an amazing thing together, the children have already started to talk about a 4WD trip around Australia and Africa is never far from my mind so who knows.....domestic life seems far away and I am glad of that but our time will come when we want to settle again....for awhile at least.BUT its a tough one to beat this little adventure of ours....and we are so lucky to be here....it is an amazing planet we live on.
