Day 2 Revisited

12 April 2009 | Clewiston
We have found a good internet signal so we can update our second day up the river and across Florida. We left Glover Bight at 8:00 and traveled the Caloosahatchee River past Ft. Myers and on to LaBelle. This river reminded us of waters of the Chesapeake with its creeks and tributaries. The homes kept us interested with their size and beauty. This eight-hour motor took us to the free City Dock of LaBelle, where we tied up stern-to with a bow anchor in the river. We walked off the boat to check out the library across the street and saw a former Regatta Pointe neighbor! After chatting with Jack, we went into the library where David noticed a former Ft. Collins attorney, Tad Wallin. Amazing first five minutes in LaBelle! We joined Tad, who has a home in Labelle, for a cold beer and returned to the boat for dinner and a quiet night.
