Rock'n On The River
08 April 2014 | Stuart, FL
It did not take us long to get back into life on a mooring ball at Sunset Bay Marina. This is our fourth stop over the past six years and nothing has changed, which is good. On Sunday morning, we visited the Farmers’ Market for fresh pastries, local strawberries and conch salad. There is no deprivation for us cruising.
Sunday afternoon, we went to hear the Shakers at the Rock’n on the River concert at the amphitheater on the St. Lucie River. Excellent jazz and rock music. Much like KoKo Ray and the Soul Providers.
Of course, Monday night is rib night at Duffy’s in downtown Stuart. We went with Bob and Mary to discuss our options if the weather doesn’t improve during the week. NOAA’s predictions are not encouraging and we will not stay indefinitely, waiting for a crossing window which may not come for some time. Our fallback option will be to head north to St. Augustine. The chart and cruising guide are out.
The weather forecast for today was accurate. After an early morning run to Publix via the marina’s van, we got back on the boat shortly before the rain started. We’ve had a couple of short downpours with more predicted tonight. The good news is that a cold front will come through and will cool down the temperatures for the rest of the week. Unfortunately, that also means windy conditions from the north.
