Rain is Gone; Still Breezy

16 May 2014 | Vero Beach FL
Thursday was a quiet day for us on the boat. Rain and wind were forecast so we thought we would just stay here. There were a couple brief showers in the morning; but the afternoon was different. At 1:30 pm, we looked down river and watched the bridge that is about a half-mile from us slowly disappear. It rained and blew off and on for about two hours. A check of the radar confirmed we would be in it for a while. Some lightning but nothing too close. The good thing is that the storm came during the day. Much easier for us when we can see what is happening. It was a good day for reading and cards. It cleared enough to use the grill and have dinner in the cockpit.

I believe the bad weather is behind us now. It is supposed to clear up later today and be sunny for the coming week. We will be able to leave here in a few days after the now northerly winds moderate. Once we head out, we plan on moving each day until we get back to Burnt Store, about seven days.
