Day 3
12 April 2009 | Clewiston
Happy Easter--our waterway journey continued as we motored from Labelle east to Clewiston via Moore Haven. A few locks and bridges and a hot, still route. East of Moore Haven is a ditch/canal to Clewiston, full of gators! We stopped counting about 20. We arrived at Roland Moore's marina/fish camp and took our spot on the 700-foot wall for a few days. The showers are great, but the DJ music until 12:38 pm kept the deep sleep from arriving--lots of interesting people to visit in the am, including a couple and captain on a 64-ft. power cruiser bound for the Italy! Gorgeous. This place is old Florida with bass fishermen and gators. We've met a couple from England and from Paris so far! Tomorrow, weather permitting, we hope to head across Lake O to a mooring ball field in Stuart. Will let you know.
