Small world - Horseshoe Island style
24 July 2017 | Horseshoe Island
Sunny, cool.
We are anchored off Horseshoe Island and there is Kevin from Waukegan Harbor on his boat Pegasus. Normally Nicolet Bay is the place to be, but when the wind is from the north, normally empty Horseshoe Island is quite busy.
We got the dinghy off the boat and went ashore and walked the path around the island. The island is small and deserted, but crossing the path is a metal pipe. Further inland is a small, man made cave, made from stones and concrete. Origins unknown. See the Gallery for pictures.
We are moving across the Bay due to a wind shift and will spend the night at Nicolet Bay.
