Cloudy and cool, but still in the 60s
The wind is piping up again, with gusts near 30 forecast. I was going to try to run down the coast for a few days, then turn around and go north to port so I could make my plane. But what if the weather makes that difficult? I think I will play it safe and make sure I get to the port where I need to be to catch my plane. The worse thing one can do while cruising is to try to keep a tight schedule. I will try to extend my stay here for those few extra days.

Cheryl arrived late this morning. Her goal at the boat was to apply the boat name to both bows (catamaran) and apply new stripes on the hulls. Mark wanted to install radar mounted on the mast. They may have had additional projects in mind for today, but the reality was the projects I mentioned didn’t get completed. Everything takes longer than anticipated. Often due to unforeseen issues that need to be resolved before the project can be completed. Running the radar cable down the inside of the mast and fishing it out at the bottom was the big sticking point with the radar installation. Some folks have used bycicle chain and magnets for something like this - neither of which we had.

After dark, we joined the couple on the catamaran behind Mark and Cheryl’s boat - another Canadian couple. Stories were told, secret remedies for rust stains and mildew were shared, wine was spilled, and some alcohol was even consumed. Pleasant end to a pleasant day.

Tomorrow we go at it again.
