Irish Pubs and inebriated flies.
18 December 2017 | Melbourne, FL
Sunny and 80 with a light breeze. Heavy dew in the morning.
I made the long dinghy ride to Melbourne today. There is an Historic Downtown District, much like in Cocoa, but maybe not quite as quaint. I walked around a bit and visited some stores. I had lunch at the Irish Pub, Meg O'Malley's Restaurant and Pub. It was crowded and the only opening was outside on the patio out back. The weather was perfect for that. For a drink, I tried the Spiced Egg Nog Martini. I finished most of it, but left some at the bottom of the glass. I watched as a fly tried it, and loved it. The fly went to town lapping it up and stayed with it for quite some time. I was done and I wanted to see if the fly got drunk. The problem was, have you ever seen a fly travel in a straight line? Neither have I, so it was hard to tell if the alcohol affected it. Hey, not every day can be a grand adventure!
The dinghy is rolled up and tied to the mast. New spot. We'll see how that goes. I tightened a bolt in the Lehr motor, again. This is getting annoying. Not sure why it keeps loosening. It has a split washer.
Tomorrow I'm off to anchorage #3. It is back north near Titusville. My flight home is Friday.
