I left Charleston this morning at 7 am with the incoming tide. It was a slow ride out through the channel and out to sea. The ICW was fun in it's own way but there were too many long slow days chugging along. Keeping your eyes peeled for long stretches. So I am glad to be out here. Currently motor sailing with the main up, doing a a little over 7 knots. I have another 96 miles to go. I should be in Fernadina Beach by 9 on Wednesday morning. This is the longest single handed passage so far. The last one was St Maartin to Virgin Gorda but it was only 90 miles. This one should be about 170 nm by the time I get to the anchorage. Of course there is a South wind but very light.
