This morning I motored around the island and anchored in North Sound. I avoided all the charter boats by anchoring near Vixen Point. I took the dinghy over to the Bitter End Yacht Club to see what all the fuss is about there. They have a pretty nice water sports area where you can use (rent) any kind of water craft you can think of, except jet skies (thank G-d).
I thought I would treat myself to a cold one while I was there. But I am sorry I think 12.00US for a hot dog, 16.00 US for a Hamburg and 8 for a beer is a little much. I guess I got too used to 2 dollar beers and a 4 dollar Chicken Roti.
The place looks like a haven for the yacht club folks from all over the US. It was the first time I felt out of place since the start of my trip.

This is my first time in the BVI's. I know most of you have chartered here at one time or another, so you all know the place pretty good.
I visited "The Baths" today..... ok kinda cool... but packed with charters, cruise ship people etc.... reminded me of NYC.
Tomorrow the plan is to sail up to the North Sound and visit the Bitter End YC and then probably over to Normand Island on Wednesday
If anyone as any suggestions of MUST SEE things. Let me know.

Forget Foxys and WillyT unless you enjoy watching drunks and listening to deafening noise.
I got here at 8:10.. anchor down. Long night for sure.
I got the boat shipshape and promptly fell asleep (for an hour). I took the dinghy in to the harbour to check in. Yikes, of all the islands I have had to check in to, this is one expensive place. Right up there with Bermuda. Must have something to do with being British.... which reminds me, Antigua was the same way.
As the day progressed and and more boats came in, I figured out why there are no American boats down south... they are all here.
Rested up most of Sunday. I guess I am not as young and able as i used to be to do long solo overnight passages.
But I am here, safe and sound (well as sound as I ever was).
