The trip across the Northeast Passage started out great. Beam reach doing 7.5 SOG. Later in the morning a squall passed though with pounding rain but not much wind. After that the wind clocked to the north to match my destination direction finder and it was a motor boat ride after that. I did make it in before dark and at slack tide.

Moved over to Royal Island to stage for a 60 mile trip across the Northeast Passage to the Abacos. This will save about 12 miles. The strategy being to get there before sunset and to be at a slack or incoming tide.
Royal Island is another example of a failed attempt to build a luxury resort. A few years back, Royal Island, off the north coast of Eleuthera, was only known to boaters as having a good harbour to anchor. Now, Jack Nicklaus and Roger Staubach have joined forces, and bought the island. They plan to put high-end homes, villas, condominiums, as well as a golf course, and marina.
