Bras for Fiji

23 May 2017
When Lahnee sailed off into the sunset with her man and two babes she didn't think she would find her calling in Fiji.

An ex nationally qualified gymnast she's found her calling while still living their dream on board their yacht Eos11. Lahnee volunteers teaching exercise classes to the locals in villages. They love it but the larger women need bras to be comfortable.
Check out the mighty Eos blog

She asked me 'Do you still work in the op shop?' I don't but as soon as I realised why, I suggested we advertise among all the women we know including the Facebook group Women Who Sail Australia. We then decided to hold an event at Mooloolaba Marina our home port.

So if you are in Mooloolaba on Friday 26th May come along bearing Big Bras, some bubbles and nibbles.

Lahnee will show us a few exercises and explain her volunteer role with Aerogym. Then we can reward ourselves with a glass of champagne.
Yes blokes are welcome too.

Mooloolaba entrance shoaling

17 May 2017
The entrance to the Mooloolah river is shallow on the eastern side. Two boats that I know of have hit the bottom coming in, one sustaining damage. Deep keel yachts should probably avoid low tide but if careful you will be ok if your draft is less than 2.5m. Always head for the beach, do a dogs leg and come in towards the western breakwater following the leads. The channel is often dredged so the pilot boats can get in and out so its not really a big problem for yachts. This is a survey from early May.PDF doc
