I just needed to add a whale update! Last night, last light of dusk, we heard some noises off our port, and looked out to see a whale in the anchorage, between us and another boat. It surfaced, but did not come very far out of the water (as we are pretty shallow compared to their usual depths!). We watched it move through the anchorage a bit before it went back down. Later after Ron went to bed, maybe about 10:00 pm, I heard it through the hull of the boat. It was the coolest thing I had ever heard! It was a beautiful whale song, and then another one responded. Possibly two but it was hard to hear. Such a wonderful experience - I had to go wake Ron up to let him know! We had heard that humpback whales sometimes can be heard in the Bay, but this was a first for me!
