We spent the night in Puerto Ballena on Isla Espiritu Santo with Scott and Rebecca. It was a great sail to the island and a wonderful sunset. I was a little nervous at first because the anchorage is not recommended for over night. Seasonal winds can come from the west but the night turned out to be calm with a max wind speed of 15. We were only in 11 feet of water (not a lot of room for error) so I slept for a while outside just in case the boat shifted. The fish were jumping so much that it was hard to sleep though the noise so I went in around 3am. The waters here are warm and crystal clear and this island deserves another visit to explore.

We will be in La Paz through the Month of May and then sailing north along the east coast of Baja Sur towards Loreto. If anyone would like a vacation send me an e-mail. There are many little towns along the way you could jump on or off the boat.

It might be July before I can take another break from work...plus it will be as hot as hell in Phoenix. Chat soon.

I left San Diego before dawn to make the 60 miles to Ensenada. I wanted to be in by dark since this was my first solo passage. The morning was chaotic with a lot of inbound traffic and my navigation equipment going offline at the same time. After sunrise the day was pleasant and warm but very little wind.

Matthew and I are thinking of you and missing you around the marina.
Hope you're great!
