Last week was very busy in the marina; Thanksgiving came first with a pot luck lunch. People brought along roasted chickens, mashed potatoes, red cabbage, broccoli bakes and much more. I took along coronation chicken, not exactly American as it was invented for our Queen's Coronation all those years ago, nethertheless it was very popular. I also made key lime pies but the apple and pecan pies were the tops.

The next day the Marina invited all the berth holders to a barbecue where we had Italian sausage in a bun, not like your standard hot dog affair, with Sicilian red wine, presecco, cannoli and pistachio sweets for dessert. The event was to say thank you bertholders for being here, a very nice gesture. Photos were taken and we even made it into the Sicilian national newspaper the next day. Next up was Friday night happy hour with live music. Local Italian guitarists and singers performed with cruisers from the marina just doing their own thing. The quality was stunning especially when our resident professional violinist accompanied the singers and musicians.
