As mentioned we come out of the water each year to have our anodes changed and the antifouling re applied. Despite rumours to the contrary we don't do it ourselves! We also need a couple of minor repairs which are certainly not part of our skill set.

On 4th July we got up early, cleared out the fridge, defrosted it, packed two suitcases and got ready for her lift out. We cannot stay on board whilst she is out of the water so we are going to stay nearby.

Promptly at 09.00 the marina manager called us and said we were the 09.30 lift out and could we go round to the yard and travel lift.

We left the berth and Vic was instructed to drive Njord half way into the lifting bay. She was then captured by two men with boat hooks, one on either side whilst we handed them a bow and two mid ship lines and we were then told to turn off the engine and get ashore. Njord was then pulled gently forward whilst the travel lift driver got the strops into the water and under her hull. One of the guys got back on board checked the strops were in the right place and when he was happy got off and Njord was gracefully lifted into the air.

She then got her power shower treatment to take the grunge off and was driven to her spot so the work could commence.
