Sassafras River, Chesapeake Bay

We had a fabulous time with Fred and Marty. Monday night Marty made fabulous crab cakes from the better homes and garden cook book. Pearce and Annise came over. It was great to see them and we need a couple more mights to catch all up.
We docked at Mears Marina for the couple of days. It would have been too much on Bobby to get out the dinghy and motor if we anchored. Instead it cost us a fortune to stay there.
After doing our laundry and loading up on fresh food, and Fred running us around to all the places we needed to go, we took off this morning. Weather predictions called for a cold front and high winds. We waited all day in 90 degree weather for that to happen. About 8:30 the wind kicked up and the temperature dropped a little. Waiting for 10 more knots of wind and 15 degrees more drop in temperature.
We are anchored in the Sassafras River. For the second time. It's like this: Bobby misread the chart and we went up the wrong River and ran aground for three hours until the tide finally lifted us up. I was driving while Bobby studied the charts and suddenly realized we had gone up the wrong River. I can't say that I have ever known him to make navigation errors, but there you go. You just can't be too careful!
We are stressing over what to do tomorrow. We have some friends we met two years ago and would like to see them, but we don't want to go up the New Jersey coast in strong north winds. We will just have to sit tight and see what happens.
