Elgin Harbour

We arrived here about 3:30 after a clear, cool day of motoring. Quite pleasant. Surprisingly, this is the big party day sponsored by the local power company, the biggest employer in the area. Hundreds of people are on the beach, kites are flying, bouncy houses abound, face painting and all kinds of family events. Included is a free dinner which we have chosen to avoid because of the crowds. Everyone is very friendly here and we've had a great time talking with people and getting more info on the Georgian Bay. Fireworks are again in store for us! We have sure lucked out in that department!

Tomorrow is Tobermory.

Friday night we spent at Goderich Harbor. A place no one wants to go into at night! Many stone walls and piers and some were under water. We anchored the crook of the south wall. The day was dark and grey with strong winds shifting from southerly to north easterly. We anchored next to the largest salt mine on Canada.
