Atlantic City

Jacky
Whew! It was a long day today. We got up at 6:30 and took off from Manesquan. It was sunny cool, but nice out on the ocean. It was kind of swells like the day before but that was OK. but the winds were supposed to be 10-15, but in reality were 30+. We changed to fleeces and foul weather gear. We were pounding into the waves all day. Plus we were bucking the tides and wind. Fortunately, even though it was rough, the sun followed us the whole way down and kept us warm. Also, in the fall the water is warm. So even though it was wet and rough, we were warm. About 3:00 I went down below to cook us hot chocolate because we had both had a chill.v It warmed us up for the remainder of the trip. We finally arrived in Atlantic City about 5:30. We anchored and immediately stripped out of our salt-infested clothes. I washed all the salt out of our clothes, did the salt taste test on everything and proclaimed them to be salt free. Brie and crackers and gin and tonic (Bobby) and scotch (Jacky) were next on the list. We are heating up chickenpie for dinner.
The solar panels are working fabulously and the new LED lights really cut down on the power we are using.
We will watch the weather for tomorrow and put up the dodger before we head to Cape May tomorrow.
