Beautiful day. Motor up ICW

we woke up this morning at 7 and got ready to leave St. Augustine. Weather was not too cooperative as it was very windy right out of the north and very cool and cloudy. We decided it would be best to head north in the ICW instead of taking the outside route on the ocean. It turned into a beautiful sunny day, but very breezy all day. Lots of north bound traffic on ICW. We were lucky, however, because Jack Boonstra was with us and with his navigation we managed NOT to run aground. Other boats were not so lucky. Once we got to Jacksonville the tide was very low and we had to be really careful where we went. Just staying between the red and green markers was not enough. We had to be really careful how we read the water and the charts.
We are anchored at Fernandina beach, still in Florida - just! It is still cool, breezy, and sunny. We are settling down to bar-b-qued pork and polenta for dinner, and a long winters nap. The fresh air has done us all in!
