Last day at work

31 March 2006 | Sydney
Greg
After forty years working, today is my (Greg) last day at work. Next week we move to our house at Batemans Bay, 4 hours south of Sydney and spend about 5 weeks unwinding and tidying up loose ends before flying out to Los Angeles and on board 'Volare'. The survey went well (as expected) and we are now moving quickly toward completion of the sale. We have ordered, or are in the proces of ordering, a Monitor Wind Vane to compliment the electric autopilot (never trust anything that is mechanical or electrical), a 12gph watermaker (the luxury of having a hot shower every day whilst at sea), liferaft, rigid inflatable dinghy, outboard motor, additional sails and a million and one other things. We will get on the boat on May 18th and then on May 30th sail down the coast to Ensenada in Mexico. We'll spend 4 months upgrading the boat then return to San Diego in October in time for the Baja Ha Ha fun race to Cabo San Lucas in November. March 2007 should see us departing from Puerto Vallarta for the Marquessas in French Polynesia.

It's time to start getting excited.
