COCABONGO

Dawn
We only had two days left before Sarah & Nick have to leave us, so we decided to sail to Cancun which is only 2 hours away from Isla Mujeres. The night before we left for Cancun we were invited for drinks on TARA a catamaran which belongs to Dutch friends of ours Erno & Frieda. We arrived about 6-00pm & were welcomed with the best Caparinahno's we have had so far. We had a fabulous evening & both Erno & Frieda told us we must go to the Coca Bongo Club. We set sail after breakfast & arrived 2 hours later at the Hacienda Del Mar Marina where we had booked a berth alongside for 3 days. We were given lots of help when we arrived and a great welcome by the manager Mario who told us he was here to help with anything we needed. As it turned out we needed someone to work on our airconditioning & he promptly found someone for us while Dave stayed on board Sarah Nick & I went to town to have a look around . We arrived back at Amarula not very excited about our shopping but looking forward to our night out on the town to-night. We were booked for Dinner at the La Habichuela we arrived at 7-00 pm & were very pleasantly surprised by the decor. We were seated outside around a terrace which was lit with fairy lights around the trees & beautiful tiles & statues all around. The food was delicious & we were all ready for our late night & in the mood. We arrived at the Coca Bongo & a great vibe was already all around the club outside. We paid for gold member as we wanted to sit & not stand all night also not wait in a long que We were taken directly to a side door around the back & then searched & my OFF was taken from me. We were then escorted upstairs & found a table & our waiter was introduced to us for the night. We could order as many drinks as we liked & what we liked. The floor show was great featuring various stars all night such as Michael Jackson, Elvis, The Beatles etc. The music & dancing was exceptional with balloons * paper raining down on us such a great vibe we felt like kids We had one incidence in which Nick was told he would get shot if he did not move which prompted Nick to irritate the chap a bit more & then discretion became the better part of valour We staggered back to the yacht at 4-30am only for Dawn to find a large gap between Amarula & the dock fortunately the 2 men who were VERY AGILE at that time of the morning were able to grab her & pull her up before any damage was done with which we all burst out laughing & collapsed on the quay & then attempted to board for the 2nd time which was uneventful, however the next day the yacht took the appearance of a hospital ship with very ill patients, unfortunately Sarah & Nick had to catch a 2-00pm flight to Miami which must have been very difficult for them.
