Crossing the International Date Line and Measuring Water Intake

10 January 2018
Alan
The seas are kinda shitty: pretty violent motion inside but we're getting used to it. The watermaker is a bummer but not worth going back to NZ to fix it. We're going to measure how much water we use to see if we need to ration ourselves. We have about 100 gallons. So we put 1 gal of water in a bottle and use it exclusively to see if we can make it on 1 gal of water a day.

It's cool to talk to the Kiwi ham radio guys and they are very thorough:
they send the position report to the NZ search and rescue for instance and are really willing to get out of their way to help. I was really nice to have the feeling that you were right there listening. Yesterday night, Tuesday, was movie night (Abdul and Victoria) but since we crossed the date line this morning it is again Tuesday tonight and thus movie night again!
