Pelone Lindo!!!!!!
for google earth people: 19.33.112N x 105.06.458w its 9th of Dec at 644pm here in chamela.
We had a glorious sleigh ride south from PV to here. Handed out watch list appointments with no recoil, crew adapted awesome. I had our trip down to about 15 minutes to actual arrival time..not too bad for a rusty old sailor boy with webbed feet!! My watch was from 7pm-11pm. after a scant 30 minute cat nap.....I was summoned to the nav by my Bro. It was a picture perfect night with full moon washing millions of lumens on the placid sea around me.....hardly any pitch and roll maneuvers as the wind was from the nw and seas at about 7 seconds. you could have left a coffee cup on the counter on top of dad's no skid material for hours!
half way through my watch I had 3 or 4 missiles coming at me sub surface.....then jumping and spouting for fresh air...yes, dolphins! they glowed in the dark like a led zepplin poster with black lights. when close to the boat you could even see their entire outline tail and all....what an epic moment. Of course I would never think of going on deck to watch them at night....(read, shame on me!) I did have on my life jacket though.
I was relieved at 11, woke up twice for ships (requested) and got up at 0630 to bring her around the reefs of Chamela....and so here we are. The anchor wasn't down but ten minutes and my Bro was begging for a ride to shore for a beach run and exploration....of course I was game for that! off we went, having our first COLD cerveza at 1030!!! we walked for a few hours on the beach looking at homes and remnants of homes from the past. walking back through town I found a place to get sticky traps for the stowaway on board and of course more cold brewski's!
We up-anchored around 2 and headed out to the outer islands of this cool cove for some snorkeling. It was warm and clear. We saw tons of fish and multiple other critters.
Back on board, I raised the dink and tied it off well while they made dinner. all gear is washed off and we are ready to crank up a movie tonight for the first time on this trip.
Its 75 degrees at 7pm.....feeling sorry for me yet?
talk to you all again tomorrow! Capt. Lawnbouy
